At Roche, we believe that fostering relationships with individuals who have lived experiences is essential. To achieve this, we prioritise honesty, openness to learning, and the cultivation of trusting relationships. Our approach is to create an environment conducive to collaboration by actively listening, welcoming challenges, and recognising the necessity for potential changes in our methods.
Roche supports patient organisations in various ways, including providing financial assistance for patient activities and co-producing materials with the community. We hold the independence of patient organisations in high regard and understand that resources can be limited. Therefore, we adapt our level of involvement based on the specific needs of each organisation. Our unwavering commitment is to enhance patient outcomes.

Roche is dedicated to adhering to the ABPI Code of Practice, where transparency plays a crucial role in building and maintaining trust within the industry. We are committed to being open about our activities and interactions with all patient organisations. A comprehensive list of organisations we supported in 2023, including the nature and value of the support, is available
Donations and Grants: Collectively, these terms refer to the provision of funds, benefits-in-kind, or services freely given to support healthcare, scientific research, or education, without any obligation on the recipient organisation to provide goods or services in return. Donations typically include physical items, services, or benefits-in-kind, whereas grants refer to the provision of funds. Note that donations and grants to individuals are prohibited.
Sponsorship: A company may offer sponsorship for activities organised by certain organisations. Sponsorship involves a contribution—financial or otherwise—towards an activity (such as an event, meeting, or creation of materials) conducted by a healthcare organisation, patient organisation, or other independent entity. Although not explicitly stated in the code, a key distinction between sponsorships and grants is that sponsorships generally offer a tangible benefit to the company, such as receiving event passes.
